About My Work 

I am an artist based in Southern California.  I've worked in several mediums in the past but none has captured my interest as completely as glass. Each of my pieces is a unique, original work of art, as the creative and technical processes involved as well as the nature of the glass make duplication not only undesirable but impossible.

In my method the design of each piece is described by both color and texture so the play of light on the finished glass adds additional beauty and dimension. I use a combination of clear and dichroic glass and it's the dichroic that gives my work the dramatic, somewhat changeable color. Dichroic glass dates back to the 4th century A.D. but modern dichroic was developed by NASA for use as thin film optic filter. It wasn't long before the beautiful quality of the glass was discovered by artists and much of the glass is now produced specifically for use in art. The dichroic finish is somewhat unpredictable as many factors can affect the color during production and processes employed to create the final art can cause dramatic change... But that can be part of its charm.
